In January 1998, in the first National Conference of Do.Co.Mo.Mo. Italy in Rome, a presentation about this same theme has been performed with the aim to denounce the state of absolute neglect of the Villa Celestina in Castiglioncello near Rosignano (Livorno), realized from 1929 to 1932 as the project of Vittorio Cafiero. The denounce effectively activated the local authority that undertook a controversy with the Public Domain, owner of the building, in order to obtain its concession of use. Moreover the local authority tried to get financing for the restoration of the building. At the same time, the University of Pisa decided to place the Marine Biology and Ecology section of the Department of Biology at Villa Celestina. Thanks to the financing obtained from the local authority of Rosignano, from the University of Pisa, from the Italian Minister of Environment and from the European Community, the executive design was executed under the constraint of the conservative restoration imposed by the Monuments Office and nowadays a consistent part of the work activities has been performed. In this presentation the criteria adopted to combine the restoration objectives with those of the reuse and the technical solutions are discussed.

Abstract
In this presentation the criteria adopted to combine the restoration objectives with those of the reuse and the technical solutions are discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
