This contribution aims to investigate the strategies of popularization in texts about environmental issues addressed to children. To the purpose, we have carried out several analyses, first comparing and contrasting texts written for children with texts written for adults on the same topic. Subsequently, since relevant differences have emerged for a variety of genres across languages, we have decided to compare popularizing texts for children in English and in Italian. In order to do so, we have identified suitable articles for a qualitative analysis and compiled corpora for a quantitative analysis.

Abstract
This contribution aims to investigate the strategies of popularization in texts about environmental issues addressed to children. To the purpose, we have carried out several analyses, first comparing and contrasting texts written for children with texts written for adults on the same topic. Subsequently, since relevant differences have emerged for a variety of genres across languages, we have decided to compare popularizing texts for children in English and in Italian. In order to do so, we have identified suitable articles for a qualitative analysis and compiled corpora for a quantitative analysis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
