Abstract

Psychology of Sustainability and Sustainable Development represents a new research area in the field of Sustainability Science, that enlarges the concept of sustainability by overcoming a perspective exclusively based on classical aspects, and seeks to improve the quality of life of each human being. In this context Architecture, with its buildings and its spaces, is one of the main actors that conditions the well-being of human life. A possible model of sustainable development can be the rehabilitation of architectural heritage to preserve the identity of a collective memory and identity. The paper’s aim is the study of new models of reference for a sustainable architecture, where the reuse of the urban spaces and buildings heritage is of fundamental importance. The results of the research, in this first phase, are to identify the guidelines for the analysis of the specialized heritage spaces at the territorial level and of the scale of single building, for a material and social recovery.
