In this paper, a compact low-profile dual-band Yagi reader antenna for smart-glove is presented that operates in 868 and 2450 MHz band. Proposed antenna is capable of directing the field in a particular direction in both operating bands. Proposed antenna consists of two rectangular-shaped driven loop and one parasitic element used as a reflector. Electric and magnetic field distributions in the near field at 868 MHz and radiation pattern in the far-field at 2450 MHz are analyzed. Electric and magnetic fields are stronger in direction opposite to the reflector, validate the operation of antenna in the near field zone at 868 MHz. Radiation pattern of the proposed antenna is directional in the far-field region at 2450 MHz. The reported antenna is simple and compact; it can be easily integrated into a glove onto the hand palm.
