The subject of this paper are parallel texts, which, following Adamzik, can be described as text formations that belong to the same text type in different language cultures, have the same subject area and a comparable text structure (2001: 13). This contribution shows that the analysis of the architectural text structure and key words in multilingual parallel texts can promote the reading comprehension of foreign-language texts (with a focus on German-language texts) among Italophone DaF (German as foreign language) students.

Abstract

The subject of this paper are parallel texts, which, following Adamzik, can be described as text formations that belong to the same text type in different language cultures, have the same subject area and a comparable text structure (2001: 13). This contribution shows that the analysis of the architectural text structure and key words in multilingual parallel texts can promote the reading comprehension of foreign-language texts (with a focus on German-language texts) among Italophone DaF (German as foreign language) students.
