Damasio de Frías fue un lector atento de los trattati d’amore italianos en forma de diá-logo. Cuando redactó el Dórida, a finales del siglo XVI, tuvo en su mente la tradición que nació a raíz de la traducción del Simposio de Platón, y también la labor de León Hebreo, que moldeó sus ideas en torno al amor. Este artículo propone un repaso de algunos motivos centrales del "Dórida" a la luz de algunos diálogos de amor italianos que se imprimieron a lo largo del siglo XVI y que pudieron influir en la concepción del amor que Frías defiende en el suyo. Damasio de Frías was an attentive reader of the Italian "trattati d’amore" in the form of dialogue. When he wrote the "Dórida", at the end of the 16th century, he had in mind the tradition that was born as a result of the translation of Plato’s Symposium, and also the work of León Hebreo, who shaped his ideas around love. This article proposes a review of some central motifs of the Dórida in the light of some Italian ‘love dialogues’ that were printed throughout the 16th century and that could influence the conception of love that Frías defends in his one.

Damasio de Frías fue un lector atento de los trattati d’amore italianos en forma de diá-logo. Cuando redactó el Dórida, a finales del siglo XVI, tuvo en su mente la tradición que nació a raíz de la traducción del Simposio de Platón, y también la labor de León Hebreo, que moldeó sus ideas en torno al amor. Este artículo propone un repaso de algunos motivos centrales del "Dórida" a la luz de algunos diálogos de amor italianos que se imprimieron a lo largo del siglo XVI y que pudieron influir en la concepción del amor que Frías defiende en el suyo.
