Light is shed on its institutional functions, engagement and goals but also on the substratum of metaphorical, axiological and literary connotations that the library itself can be seen to acquire in a series of works where it grows into a topos and inspiring motif.
Questa prefazione introduce il grande tema della biblioteca mettendone a fuoco da un lato i profili istituzionali, gli statuti e le finalità e, dall’altro, un substrato di valenze metaforiche, assiologiche e letterarie che vedono la biblioteca stessa al centro di opere nelle quali essa si tramuta in topos e motivo ispiratore.
