Abstract

Over time, the short story Gioco di società underwent several stage and film adaptations. The one made in 1985 by Sciascia himself, Il sicario e la signora, was the only stage adaptation of one of his works he produced without the help of any collaborator. Through the comparison between Sciascia’s adaptation and the homonymous TV movie by director Nanni Loy (1989), this article reflects on the specific symbols of the main female character, between crime novel and socio-political fable.
