A quasi-Yagi antenna for UHF RFID Smart Glove designed to focus the field out of the worker's hand is introduced in this paper. The antenna comprises a rhombus-shaped driven element and two parasitic elements used as directors to focus the field in a required direction and increase its strength compared to other directions. The antenna is analyzed in terms of both the electric and magnetic field distribution in the near field region. A copper tape prototype is developed on a stretchable fabric, and good agreement between measured and simulated results in terms of reflection coefficient is obtained. The presented antenna is flexible and compact and easily integrable into gloves.
