In complex and turbulent environments, organizations frequently develop formal or informal relationship in order to work together to pursue goals, address common concerns, and/or attain mutually beneficial ends. In the recent years, the number and significance of collaborative forms of organizing, including inter-organizational teams, partnership and networks, have increase tremendously. The value of effective collaborative relationship as well as the complexities and challenges they present have been recognized by many researchers. This chapter is aimed at analysing the inter-organizational networks of Abruzzo’s slaughtering firms and leather tanning firms belonging to the district of Igualada, S.Croce sull’Arno and Arzignano. The methodology approach adopted in this study is social network analysis (SNA), which represents a method of collecting and analysing data from multiple organizations that may be interacting with one other. This chapter is structured as follows: first, we give an overview of the SNA and of the main network concepts employed in this analysis. Second, we present the data collected within the four districts surveyed. The subsequent sections contain the analysis and results achieved. We conclude with a brief discussion of our results.
