The starting point of the research is that linguistic deficits do not imply linguistic disintegration. The pathology is the context that sheds light on phenomena which are assumed to function in normal language. Data are collected in a corpus constituted by spontaneously emerging conversations between two subjects affected by two different types of aphasia (Broca’s aphasia and Wernicke’s aphasia). The main purpose is the description of a “grammar of interaction”, in order to describe the linguistic outlines of the two subjects independently of any ideal model of language. The research focuses on deixis in the verbal and the gestural code. In particular, it sheds light on the category of person (the ego function) and its markers, especially taking into account the functions taken up by the sinergic combinations ego (as verbal item)-deictic gesture and ego-phatic gesture.

Abstract
The starting point of the research is that linguistic deficits do not imply linguistic disintegration. The pathology is the context that sheds light on phenomena which are assumed to function in normal language. Data are collected in a corpus constituted by spontaneously emerging conversations between two subjects affected by two different types of aphasia (Broca’s aphasia and Wernicke’s aphasia). The main purpose is the description of a “grammar of interaction”, in order to describe the linguistic outlines of the two subjects independently of any ideal model of language. The research focuses on deixis in the verbal and the gestural code. In particular, it sheds light on the category of person (the ego function) and its markers, especially taking into account the functions taken up by the sinergic combinations ego (as verbal item)-deictic gesture and ego-phatic gesture.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
