We present a numerical study, based on a recursive Green's function approach, of the effect of magnetic field on conductance and shot noise in diffusive conductors and cascaded barriers. In particular, we find a progressive reduction of the Fano factor as a function of magnetic field and a disappearance, as a result of the symmetry breaking properties of magnetic field, of conductance enhancement and suppression effects associated with evenly-unevenly spaced barriers.

Abstract

We present a numerical study, based on a recursive Green's function approach, of the effect of magnetic field on conductance and shot noise in diffusive conductors and cascaded barriers. In particular, we find a progressive reduction of the Fano factor as a function of magnetic field and a disappearance, as a result of the symmetry breaking properties of magnetic field, of conductance enhancement and suppression effects associated with evenly-unevenly spaced barriers.
