The study examines the texts of three songs in Roman dialect written by Pasolini around 1959 for the singer and actress Laura Betti. Although the three texts have already been published, they have not so far been adequately investigated from a linguistic and philological point of view. Based on the typescripts kept at the Gabinetto Vieusseux in Florence, which present earlier drafts of the texts, the study offers a new edition with the apparatus of the variants taken from the typescripts and a comparison of the editions. This is followed by a linguistic analysis of the texts that also considers the most significant variants, including those of Laura Betti’s recordings. At the end, the contents of the three songs are compared to some social reflections on the Roman suburbs published by Pasolini in 1958.

Abstract
At the end, the contents of the three songs are compared to some social reflections on the Roman suburbs published by Pasolini in 1958.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
