The 2025 edition of the Observatory on the transformations of the Italian automotive ecosystem provides an updated overview of the effects that the ongoing technological transition is having on companies within the national supply chain. The data presented in the volume result from a survey designed to offer evidence both on the segments of the supply chain that are facing technological delays – and their related reconversion needs – and on companies already active in the production of components for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. The survey was launched and completed between September and October 2025, while meetings with the Steering Committee took place both before the survey’s launch, to define the most relevant topics, and afterwards, to discuss and interpret the results. The first findings of the survey were also presented at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in January 2026. The report therefore also benefits from the discussion that emerged in that setting, as well as from the contributions provided through engagement with the institutions.
