This paper presents the results of a research on the writing activities in a sample of Italian L2 coursebooks for university students. The study aims to identify which strategies, tasks, and techniques the textbooks propose to help students to learn to write in Italian L2. A corpus of writing activities taken from a selection of Italian L2 coursebooks addressed to university students will be analysed using a grid focused on writing ability and by considering the CEFR indications on written production, as well as the contents of an Italian L2 Syllabus focused on university students. The results can be relevant for researchers and teachers interested in teaching writing.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a research on the writing activities in a sample of Italian L2 coursebooks for university students. The study aims to identify which strategies, tasks, and techniques the textbooks propose to help students to learn to write in Italian L2. A corpus of writing activities taken from a selection of Italian L2 coursebooks addressed to university students will be analysed using a grid focused on writing ability and by considering the CEFR indications on written production, as well as the contents of an Italian L2 Syllabus focused on university students. The results can be relevant for researchers and teachers interested in teaching writing.
