Corrigendum “Empagliflozin mitigates ponatinib-induced cardiotoxicity by restoring the connexin 43-autophagy pathway” [Biomed. Pharmacother. 178 (2024), 117278]

This Corrigendum relates to the above article. Post-publication, an investigation identified a concern around the authenticity of the following figure/image panel:(Figure presented) - Fig. 2 C, that show representative overlay of confocal microscopy images of the Cx43 or pCx43 red immunofluorescence reaction and grey transmission in three-dimensional reconstruction of longitudinally sectioned cardiomyocytes, appear to show the same image, but with different rotation, for the sample Cx43 CNTRL and Cx43 PON+EMPA. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns, as well as the original unprocessed image files to aid investigation, and have clarified and demonstrated that the apparent image duplication/rotation resulted from an inadvertent error that began during the figure assembly process. The authors apologise for this oversight. The journal apologises that the oversight was not identified prior to publication.
