This study evaluates the efficacy of ultrasound-guidance for the execution of perineural injections at three different levels: parasacral, tibial nerve and common peroneal nerve level. In six canine cadavers landmarks for nerves visualization were ultrasonographically identified. Four US-guided injections were performed in each cadaver with a New Methylen Blue solution, and real-time distribution was observed. After dissection, solution spread was noted “in situ”. It was possible to reach target structure and to inject the solution in all cases and at all levels, although the parasacral approach was more difficult due to the depth of the nerve. The volume of the employed solution was sufficient to dye an adequate length of the targeted nerves.

Abstract
The volume of the employed solution was sufficient to dye an adequate length of the targeted nerves.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
