The essays working as introduction to Part II discusses how critics read Shakespeare, how conflict is used in critical practice and how conflict can be discussed through Shakespeare. Namely, the discovery of parallels between actual situations of conflict and the models presented by Shakespeare, and/or the tendentioud suggestion through Shakespeare of points actual receivers are not yet aware of (presentism).
