A total of 40 pheasants were used for the experiment. Two diets, characterized by a different composition (metabolize energy 11.7 MJ/kg and 11.0 MJ/kg, crude fibre 6.2% and 12.2%, crude protein 23.5 and 16.0 for diets 1 and 2, respectively), were fed to the birds during the growing - finisher periods.Live weights and gut characteristics (weight, volume and lenght of the digestive apparatus with the annexed organs and of the different elements and sections: liver, gizzard, small intestine, caeca and colon-rectum) were measured in 91 and 123 days old pheasants. Results showed that the use of the diet containing 12.2% fibre produced lighter pheasants with longer caeca, theoretically more adapted to survive in nature after release.

Abstract
Results showed that the use of the diet containing 12.2% fibre produced lighter pheasants with longer caeca, theoretically more adapted to survive in nature after release.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
