As it has long been known, text linguistics can be very useful in the langua-ge teaching field. Linguistic knowledge about the nature and the functioning of texts can favor the reading and comprehension of texts in the mother tongue as well as in a foreign language. The accurate observation of the text structures leads students to language awareness, precise and critical reading, which in turn increase their general text skills. This article presents text linguistic based procedures aiming to enable native-language text knowledge in order to promote reading comprehension in the foreign language even at a very early stage of foreign language acquisition.
