Abstract

The problem of the production choices has always represented an element of great importance for the economic success of the farm. Numerous Authors have proposed different scientific methods, aiming to optimize the choice of investment of the cultivated areas, with the economic objective to achieve the highest profit. Into Farmtecture the criteria of production choices become much more important than they are in traditional farms. The traditional farms, compared with the Farmtecture, have lower investments and therefore they can better amor-tize the errors derived from wrong decisions or bad planning. In Farmtecture the investments at stake are higher and although the profits are proportionate, it becomes mandatory using an appropriate method to support the selection criteria of activities and avoid the programming errors, both in the choice of activities and in the allocation of both the surfaces to occupy. We believe that the method of “Linear Programming in Agriculture” (LPA) based on the economic criteria readily available in the agriculture sphere, can ensure the right production decisions and the optimal combination in the organization of the Farmtecture enterprise. The method of LPA aims to research the excellent combination of the cultures on the purpose to ensure an excellent return on the investement and a good general income. The choice of the activities to be included in the production process, is done using the mathematical method of LPA that is based on the “gross margin” of each activity. The first choice will be the activi-ties with higher gross margin, up to meet the limits imposed on the computing system and then, to go down, all other activities up to employ all the resources available (surface, work and capital). At the end of the procedure for calculating, the resolution of the array will provide the optimal combination of the crops or activities. The optimal solution, will be the sum of all income earned from surfaces planted or activities, selected on the basis of their income unit; the productive solution, is also obtained thanks to a number of constraints imposed at the system and will be the one that will provide the greatest possible income Particularly in the Farmtecture, the overall production is organized in a sustainable way, through the integration of fish farms and vegetable crops. The aquaculture emits the waste and manure, that after a treatment with an oxidative filter, obtained directly into the hydraulic flow that connects the aquaculture breeding to the crop plants, are transformed into natural fertilizers for crops. The production cycle is self-sufficienct and eco friendly from the energy point of view using power only made locally from renewable sources. Quite remarkable is the reuse of water resources, that not only improves the overall sustainability but also contributes to eliminate the artificial fertilizers from the production process, thus promoting the development of 0 food miles; 100% organic food pro-duction , that can also easily meet the consumers' interest
