The Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs clarifies every rules on DOI, PGI and TSG. But, it lets or introduces uncertainties too. Several issues merit full studies: DOI and PGI used as an ingredient in foodstuff; Member States competency concerning DOI and PGI control; relevance and opportunity of rules on TSG. Moreover, “optional quality terms” issue raises several considerations. Analyzing these different questions will give the opportunity to reflect about legal nature and legal development level of DOI, PGI, TSG and “optional quality terms” and more generally about the legal architecture of quality systems.
