Following introductory remarks concerning the rapidly changing situation of multilingualism in our present world of globalization, the article deals with concepts of the recent research on multilingualism, which can represent a significant basis for German as a Foreign Language teaching at university level. Based on the analysis of parallel texts, the article presents a module for university multilingualism teaching. Multilingual parallel texts show transcultural correspondences and common textual patterns, which can be identified and reflected upon, in order to promote language awareness and reading comprehension.
