This special issue includes the selected papers from the proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE2015), which was successfully held during March 28–31, 2015, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Over 500 participants from over 50 countries submitted more than 700 papers. After peer-review, about 500 papers were accepted and presented at about 100 parallel sessions. The selected papers cover seven topics in the applied energy areas, including Renewable Energy, Clean Energy Conversion Technologies, Mitigation Technologies, Intelligent Energy Systems, Energy Storage, Energy Management, Energy Policy/Economics and Sustainability, and Energy Sciences.
