Frammenti di memoria: tre racconti senderiani sulla Guerra di Spagna

In the wide literary production by Ramón J. Sender, the theme of the Spanish civil war finds its space rather in the watered-down terrain of the novel than in the condensation of the short stories. The three short stories studied here represent an exception in this sense; being at the origin of a long process of psychological displacement of pain due to the war, they show us how the memory of the latter, experienced personally by Sender both as a soldier and as a common citizen, comes to mind by fragments or brief snapshots, using a writing strongly imbued with orality.

Nella vasta produzione senderiana il tema della guerra civile trova più facilmente spazio nella materia diluita dei romanzi che nella condensazione della narrativa breve. I tre racconti qui studiati rappresentano, infatti, un’eccezione in tal senso; all’origine di un lungo processo di rimozione psicologica del dolore legato al conflitto, essi ci mostrano come il ricordo di quest’ultimo, vissuto in prima persona da Sender sia come soldato al fronte sia come cittadino comune, affiori alla mente per frammenti o brevi istantanee, avvalendosi di una scrittura fortemente intrisa di oralità.
