Manufacturing companies, warehouses and industrial machines producers have all the same need: make their processes more efficient. Things On Internet (TOI), an Italian tech company, have developed the “4Zero Platform”, an industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) data acquisition and analysis stack for the improvement of production efficiency. Data gathered by the 4ZeroBox can be sent to different cloud services and also processed locally for the extraction of machine's key performance indicator (KPI). This chapter presents the use of the 4ZeroBox for the real‐time calculation of machine's overall equipment efficiency (OEE) KPI. It describes how the OEE is calculated, analyzing data gathered from the machine and merging it with data acquired from the company ERP server. The chapter concludes with the description of an industrial use case where the technology presented here has been tested for the monitoring of a cutting tools production line based on a series of legacy computer numerical control (CNC) machines.

Abstract
The chapter concludes with the description of an industrial use case where the technology presented here has been tested for the monitoring of a cutting tools production line based on a series of legacy computer numerical control (CNC) machines.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
