Orobanche ramosa L. is one of the worst weeds affecting tobacco. Lab and field tests were conducted to test an experimental germination stimulant (Nijmengen-1) on its buried seed. Seedbank reduction was greater in the upper 10 cm of soil (75%), but decreased with increasing seed burial depth. Seedbank reduction resulted in less parasitized plants. The product on test is likely to be agronomically successfull only of repeated applications are carried out in order to affect different soil horizons over the time.

Abstract
Orobanche ramosa L. is one of the worst weeds affecting tobacco. Lab and field tests were conducted to test an experimental germination stimulant (Nijmengen-1) on its buried seed. Seedbank reduction was greater in the upper 10 cm of soil (75%), but decreased with increasing seed burial depth. Seedbank reduction resulted in less parasitized plants. The product on test is likely to be agronomically successfull only of repeated applications are carried out in order to affect different soil horizons over the time.File in questo prodotto:
