ABSTRACT We presentthe1:8000scalegeologicalmapofthenortheasternsectorofMykonosIsland, where anigneous,metamorphicandsiliciclasticsequenceiscutbytheNorthCycladic Detachment System(NCDS),andbrittly-ductilydeformedduringtheemplacementofthe Mykonos Granite.Wedescribethearchitectureofthe(ductile)Livadaand(brittle)Mykonos Detachments pertainingtotheNCDS.Geologicalmappingwasfunctionalto(i)the description ofalongandacrossstrikegeometricalvariationsofthedetachmentsand(ii)the analysis ofthedeformationandstrainpartitioningwithinthedeformedrocks.Weshowthat deformation localisationdiffers alongdipandstrikefortheMykonosDetachment,which accommodated deformationboththroughthickandlocalisedfaultzones.Also,theductile fabric oftheLivadaDetachmentischaracterisedbyastrongstrainlocalisation,which generally decreasesfromeastwards.Moreover,thegeologicalmapshowsthatthe detachments orientationallowedthelocalelisionoftheoriginaltectono-stratigraphy.
