Innovazioni istituzionali e approcci multi-attore nelle politiche alimentari Locali: il piano intercomunale per il cibo della Piana di Lucca

The 'Piana del Cibo' is the project through which five municipalities within the Lucca Plain (Capannori, Lucca, Altopascio, Porcari and Villa Basilica) have committed to sharing the development of a food policy with the local community. In this area, which has long been rich in terms of ini- tiatives and projects on sustainable food practices, the participatory project Circularifood was launched in 2018 and involved about 300 local actors in the setup of the Intermunicipal Food Policy Plan (PIC). The PIC defines guiding principles and future actions for the five municipalities, as well as an innovative governance mo- del based on the associated management of the food policy through the establishment of a dedicated office. The governance model entailed the establishment of the Agorà and Food Policy Council, which constitute the entities in charge of encouraging and facilitating par- ticipation and co-planning of initiatives by the citizens and other stakeholders’ organisations.
